Black and white on display at recent event

The black and white combo has been in fashion for decades, and it doesn't seem to be going out of style anytime soon. While many stars update their looks by switching up the textures or fabrics of their white and black ensembles, one thing's for sure, the hues offer something for everyone. Tyra Banks and Sarah Michelle Gellar were two celebs who turned heads in black and white outfits while hitting the red carpet of the 2013 TCA Summer Press Tour - CBS/CW/Showtime Party in Beverly Hills. Despite both ladies wearing the neutral hues, their outfits couldn't be more opposite.

According to People magazine, Banks turned heads in a stunning and tight black and white frock. The body-hugging dress boasted a white underlay and a lace overlay as well as sheer, black lace sleeves and a plunging neckline. The model and TV host didn't stop the sass there - she added more drama thanks to her bold, smoky eye makeup and wild curls that were fashioned into an exaggerated side part. 

As for accessories, Banks kept it chic wearing cute black pointed-toe pumps and eye-catching black and white drop earrings. The gorgeous additions featured a white top section and long black tassels that dangled to her shoulders and moved with her every step. While such a bold hairstyle-earrings combo might not be your speed, you can enhance your own lacy LBD with pretty, yet less showy, black and white drop earrings. Gellar has been busy as of late. Not only is she mom to daughter Charlotte and son Rocky with husband Freddie Prinze Jr., but she's also slated to star in a film version of her once-popular series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Despite the loaded schedule, Gellar looked fabulous during the recent press tour event. 

Dressed in a gorgeous Izmaylova leather black dress and sassy shoes, the actress certainly stole the spotlight as she walked the red carpet. Not only is leather a major fashion statement this summer, but the frock's capped sleeves and peplum waist helped combine multiple trends without looking too busy. Gellar accentuated her show-stopper wearing a mix of black, white and gold bangles on one arm as well as chic black studs. 

If you've gotten into the leather dress craze like Gellar? has, it might be a great idea to don bracelets similar to the star's to look as fabulous as she does.
