Emerald is Pantone's color of the year
Emerald's rich green color has been a hot commodity for years, and Americans have been enamored by its elegance and sophistication for decades. Fans of this hue can enjoy it even more now, as this bold and dazzling color was named Pantone Color Institute's "it" color of 2013.
"Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal, and rejuvenation, which is so important in today's complex world," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "This powerful and universally appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors."
Those who are eager to fit this hue into their everyday wear will have an easy time doing so. Not only does emerald compliment most skin tones, but it can easily be incorporated into someone's wardrobe with costume jewelry or clothing.
Dress it up for work
There are countless ways to rock this hue, and sporting it into the office is one of the many ways to do so. Green dress pants or a nice, breezy maxi skirt for the spring are two great ways to bring it to the office. Those who are not comfortable rocking such a color with their clothing can do so with their jewels, as emerald jewelry paired with subtle hues can quickly improve that beige or black pantsuit.
Add it for a casual look on the weekends
Just as the past few seasons have showed, chunky jewelry is huge and will remain that way into the spring season. Before hitting the city for a night out with the girls, take that cocktail dress and bring it up a notch with dazzling green jewels.
Couple it with gold accessories
Metallics and mixing metals are still on trend, and combining this style with emerald is a surefire way to look terrific this season. Possibly the best metallic to rock with emerald jewels is gold, as this brings out the bold green hue and makes it shine. Big boyfriend watches can be coupled with a chunky emerald bangle or earrings to finish off the perfect ensemble.
Gemstone bracelets, rings, etc.
There are tons of ways to bring this color to jewelry, including bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings. The bigger, the better is in this season, so rock this with a massive green and gold bracelet. Those who have that simple black dress can take it to new heights by matching it with a bold necklace full of emerald-colored stones. Gals can also be subtle when incorporating this color by wearing a lovely cocktail ring or studded earrings, just to add a little bit of excitement.
The best part about incorporating this green hue into a wardrobe is that ladies do not have to break the bank to purchase it. In fact, they can opt for gemstone jewelry such as the Round Simulated Birthstone Black Ruthenium-Plated Inside-Out Hoop Earrings for much less.
Other colors of spring 2013
To some, green simply isn't their color - whether they simply don't like it or they feel it doesn't work as best as other colors. Pantone also released a list of other hot colors of the season and those include dusk blue, tender shoots, which is slightly darker than a lime green, lemon zest, poppy red, nectarine and grayed jade. All of these hues can be incorporated into a wardrobe easily through jewelry and accessories. Plus, mixing bold colors is still hot this spring, making it easy for fashionistas to rock this bold green hue and match it with yellows, purples or blues, whether with jewelry or clothing.
