Garcelle Beauvais adds drama to red carpet with bold earrings
Actress Garcelle Beauvais has had her ups and downs within the industry and her personal life. Despite some past hardships, Beauvais was nothing but white hot at the recent "White House Down" New York City premiere. Beauvais plays the First Lady in the film and her look on the red carpet was certainly fit for a high-class event.
According to Fashion Bomb Daily, Beauvais donned a Memeka by Gustavo Cadile Spring 2013 gown that boasted a sweetheart neckline, a form-fitting white body and a flared bottom that also featured gorgeous hand-painted blue, white, silver and black flowers. While the dress certainly showed off her fit figure and love of bold and unique patterns, it was her accessories that stole the show.
The actress wowed the crowds with her impressive, deep blue drop earrings that were not only massive, but also made more feminine thanks to a diamond detailing on the clasp. Beauvais kept her hair back in a half-updo style to show off her statement earrings with ease. Another surprising accessory? Her purple lipstick. While some critics praised the actress for going out of her comfort zone, others felt the lip hue was a bit too much with the earrings. Even if you're not ready to rock purple, blue or other unnatural-toned lipsticks, you can still take style points from Beauvais for her earrings. Donning a similar style like the 21.08 TCW Pear-Cut Midnight Sapphire And Cubic Zirconia Earrings In 18k Gold Over Sterling Silver with a white summer dress or a light colored blazer can take your look from day to night with ease.
"White House Down" also stars Beauvais?' longtime friend Jamie Foxx as the president. While she and Foxx first met on his popular "The Jamie Foxx Show," Beauvais admitted to the Huffington Post that she and Foxx made a pact they would never date off-screen, despite tons of chemistry over the five-season run.
"It's funny, because when we worked together we had made a pact that we weren't going to date, because it would be awkward," Beauvais told the news outlet.
While Foxx and Beauvais might not make it as a couple in Hollywood, they do get to play husband and wife, rather President and first lady in the new blockbuster.
