Glittery headbands ruled the Golden Globe red carpet

A slew of A-list celebrities glided down the red carpet in their best, and many featured emerging new trends - especially those that surrounded the accessories. One accessory topped a few stars' ensembles - a dazzling headband.

The bigger and more glam the headband, the more subtle the stars' fashion jewelry. Charlize Theron donned a beautiful sparkling headband by Cartier, and she matched it simply with studded earrings to go with her plush statement gown. Michelle Williams did the same pairing with her Fred Leighton for Forevermark band, which complimented her black and white Jason Wu dress.

However, Busy Phillips complimented her thin silver headband with big chandelier earrings, a bold turquoise ring and gold and silver bracelets, All of which looked perfect with her one-shoulder off-white gown.

Other trends that made their way down the red carpet included beautiful navy gowns like Sofia Vergara's, leg-revealing dresses such as those seen on Jenna Dewan and Piper Perabo, bright yellow hues such as Maria Menounos' gown and fru-fru skirts like Tina Fey's crimson number.
