Hilary Duff goes for bold bling at 'Planes' premiere

Actress Hilary Duff might be a new mom, but parenthood hasn't stopped her from spreading her fashion wings. Most recently, the blonde beauty, accompanied by her husband, Mike Comrie, and son Luca, stood out in a black romper and bold accessories at the Los Angeles premiere of the Disney animated film "Planes."

According to People magazine, the fresh-faced starlet dazzled in her sleek black Maje romper that showed off her toned legs. While it was hard to take our eyes off her fit figure, Duff did add major drama to the simple look thanks to her impressive Dannijo statement necklace. The stunning piece boasted bent metal circles in gold, a thick chain and a mix of rubies, pearls, diamonds and light blue tones within the three circles. Even though the necklace was busy, it worked perfectly with Duff's simpler style. However, she added even more gems to the ensemble by way of her gold stud earrings and multiple gold cocktail rings.

It seems mixing modest outfits with bolder jewels is Duff's standard M.O. The actress-turned-author stopped by the "Today" show May 1 to discuss her new novel, "True," and her style habits. 

"I'm kind of a casual girl that likes to add glam pops here and there," Duff told the anchors during her appearance. 

She added she looks up to model Kate Moss and actress Sienna Miller as style icons, since both are able to mix "high fashion with brands that are accessible to everyone... "
