Holiday season is also engagement season
It is now the holiday season, and many people are planning their parties and gatherings. However, many may not realize that this time of year is also "engagement season," according to the Washington Post.
Some people may have been tipped off by the number of diamond ring ads and the little boxes that are in the front of jewelry stores, but others may not realize exactly how popular it is to get engaged this wintry month.
According to WeddingWire, 33 percent of engagements occur between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. Bridal magazines are getting ready to see their best-selling month in January and have been selling plenty of ad space. The wedding industry is also well aware of this time of year, as they gear up for an eventful new year, where excited couples flood their stores to start planning their wedding.
There has also been a surge of posts on various wedding message boards, as women speculate if this is the year that their boyfriend will get on one knee and give them the engagement ring of their dreams.
