Kelly Rowland breaks all kinds of rules at the Grammys
The 55th annual Grammys took place on February 10 and prior to the show, CBS, the network airing the event, sent out a memo urging attendees to avoid showing too much skin on the red carpet. Despite the warning, some stars, including the fabulous Kelly Rowland, decided to break the rules.
Rowland, who made a surprise appearance at former group member Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show, certainly garnered tons of attention for her show-stopping Grammys look. The diva showed up wearing a gorgeous and revealing black George Chakra gown that boasted cutouts and mesh detailing that left little to the imagination.
According to the New York Daily News, Rowland knew her dress may not have been up to code, but admitted she didn't care.
"I thought about the dress code, and I thought about it again," she told the news outlet regarding her skin-baring ensemble. "I respect it. See, I wore clothes," she said jokingly while looking down at her frock.
Even though her dress certainly stole the show, Rowland was also on trend with her jewelry. Hollywood Life reports Rowland was dripping in the color of 2013 - emerald. The diva wore a massive emerald and diamond cocktail ring and matching drop earrings, all by designer Lorraine Schwartz.
Rowland wasn't the only entertainer who went for big and bold jewelry. Country crooner Carrie Underwood's neck was lit up thanks to a stunning 381-carat diamond necklace made by Johnathon Arndt that cost $31 million.
Ladies who want to emulate Rowland's style, but don't have the fortune of having her bank account, can still be on trend with emeralds by purchasing affordable jewelry. The Oval Cut Simulated Birthstone Sterling Silver Ring offers the same look and appeal as Rowland's ring, but with a much lower price tag.
