Malin Akerman looks gorgeous in deep purple gown

Actress Malin Akerman wowed on the red carpet as she stepped out for the World Childhood Foundation Gala dinner in New York City. According to Us Weekly, the blonde starlet donned a deep purple halter dress with embellished neckline and waist, which she paired with a gorgeous cocktail ring and black clutch.

Akerman has been in quite a few films and her next was expected to be Inferno, which she would play Linda Lovelace, a former porn star-turned-women's rights advocate. It has been a year and a half since she took the role over from Lindsay Lohan, and now Akerman feels as though it will never be made, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Last I heard, which was just before Christmas, we were supposed to start shooting in March, and now it's April," Akerman told the news source last month. "It's been one of those doomed films that I absolutely love and totally believe in, I love the script, I think it's such a well-written script about the behind-the-scenes of a battered woman."
