More stars announce engagements

It comes as no surprise that the number of celebs getting engaged this past weekend continues to rise. To add to the list, basketball legend Michael Jordan and actor Chris O'Dowd both got down on one knee and gave their significant others gorgeous engagement rings.

Jordan asked his girlfriend, Cuban model Yvette Prieto, for her hand in marriage. The two have been dating for three years, according to People Magazine. This will be 48-year-old Jordan's second marriage. His first was to Juanita Vanoy for 16 years, with whom he had three children - 23-year-old Jeffery Michael, 21-year-old Marcus James and Jasmine, 18.

O'Dowd, who is most likely known for his role in "Bridemaids" as Kristin Wiig's love interest, also popped the question to his girlfriend, British TV personality Dawn Porter. O'Dowd got down on one knee while the couple was on vacation in Guernsey, an island in the English Channel, on Christmas. The Irish actor and his fiance took to Twitter to announce his engagement.

"I guess he liked it, coz he put a ring on it. #engaged," Porter tweeted on Thursday.
