Stars light up the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala

The annual Palm Springs Film Festival took place this past Saturday night, and star after star walked the red carpet, as they were honored for their work this year. Many deserved praises for not only their impeccable performances in 2011, but also for the beautiful gowns and fashion jewelry.

Michelle Williams stunned in a silver satin and beaded Prada cocktail dress. It was complete with a tiny waist and the bodice section was covered in silver and gold beading and crystals. She paired this look with dazzling bracelets, which didn't take away from the stand out dress. Williams was honored for her role on "My Week With Marilyn," which she played the iconic Marilyn Monroe.

"My only wish is that Marilyn herself could have been lucky enough to have experienced in her lifetime what I am experiencing tonight," Williams said in her acceptance speech for the Desert Palm Achievement Award. "Despite her gifts as a performer, the likes of which we haven't seen with since, never got the recognition she deserved."

Other stars who truly shined were Olivia Wilde and Angelina Jolie. Wilde donned a Monique Lhuiller black dress with Cartier Jewels sparkling on her wrist and hand. Jolie wore a halter dress by Elie Saab with Jimmy Choo heels with simple diamond studs.
