Top jewelry trends of 2012 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards was full of emotion, as the death of Whitney Houston a day before the event put a somber note to the evening. However, beautiful gowns and fashion jewelry dazzled the red carpet, as the night honored the best in the music industry.

When it came to the jewelry, there was a definite trend among the stars, as many opted for big and bold.

Jennifer Hudson, who sang the tribute song for Houston, donned diamond and platinum cuff bracelets and matching chandelier earrings by Neil Lane. Fergie who went with a daring orange lace dress complimented the look with massive gold hoops with matching bracelet and ring. Katy Perry wore a light blue, long-sleeved gown and paired it with dangling diamond earrings.

When it came to the dresses, it seems as though the "little black dress" was quite popular - with the operative word being little. Rihanna donned a low-cut, open back Armani dress with thigh-high slit. Gwyneth Paltrow stunned in a Stella McCartney halter dress with an open back and a sheer nude paneling on the sides.
